Two months into the Oregon Legislature’s 2023 session, Lincoln County’s delegates to the Capitol in Salem will update their constituents during a livestreamed discussion Friday, March 17.
The Oregon Coast Community College’s Small Business Development Center will host the town hall with Sen. Dick Anderson, R-Lincoln City, and David Gomberg, D-Otis, starting at 8 a.m. St. Patrick’s Day. Anderson and Gomberg will take questions live via Zoom. The public session is expected to end at 9 a.m. Likely topics include housing, homelessness, education, coastal industry and the “blue economy.”
In the event the legislature’s Joint Ways and Means Committee cancels its meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Salem, Anderson and/or Gomberg might attend the forum in person at the community college’s Lincoln City campus, an OCCC press release notes.
For those who can’t make the session next week, the Ways and Means Committee plans to visit Newport as part of a “roadshow” at the end of April, which will also include stops in the Willamette Valley, southern, and eastern Oregon. Details of the tour are to be announced.
