Applications for Oregon Coast Community College’s medical assistant program for the 2024-25 academic year are now open.
The comprehensive, entry-level program offers students a foundation to begin their journey into the health care industry.
Designed for aspiring health care professionals, the medical assistant certificate program provides training in clinical and administrative skills including patient care, medical office procedures, phlebotomy, and medical law. Students will receive a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on training in the college’s labs.
The program includes curriculum learning skills for both the front and back office, from patient interactions to electronic health records management, practical experience in clinical settings, and career advising and job placement assistance.
“Medical assistants play a vital role in health care, and this program offers a solid starting point for anyone interested in entering the field,” said Crystal Bowman, the college’s dean of Nursing & Allied Health.
The application period closes Sept. 1. Go to the college website for details on application requirements and deadlines, or contact Bowman at crystal.bowman@oregoncoast.edu
