WALDPORT — The Waldport Wednesday Market launches its 2023 season Wednesday, May 3, with a host of vendors selling a big range of goods.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Wednesday through the Fall, the market in the parking lot of the Waldport Community Center will offer dozens and dozens of tables and tents, brimming with merchandise and food. Admission is free.
“Right now we have 71 vendors,” said TiAnne Rios, secretary of Beachcomber Days, which manages the market. While not all vendors will be on hand for each market day, there will be plenty present to offer shoppers a variety of goods.
“We’ll have several food vendors, selling everything from baked goods to barbecue sauce, tapas to fish, soup to sandwiches,” Rios said, along with two fresh produce booths. In addition, shoppers will find crystals, tie-dye T-shirts, soaps and cosmetics, jewelry, textiles, woodwork and more.
Non-profit groups will also be represented on various market days. The Waldport Library will staff a booth every third Wednesday of the month; Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue staff will be on hand offering information on smoke detectors and fire safety, and a fundraiser for the war effort in Ukraine are among the non-profits expected. Non-profit groups are not charged for booth space.
Applications are still available for vendors who want to be part of the market, “because not every vendor is there every Wednesday,” Rios said. “The Wednesday Market is a great way to purchase locally and support our neighbors and friends.”
