NEWPORT — Lincoln County commissioners will now hold two regular meetings a month with workshops on Wednesdays in between.
The change from weekly regular meetings has been in place since the beginning of March when commissioners participated in a workshop on the county’s new budget software then held a special meeting to declare a homelessness emergency.
Commissioners now have regular meetings at 10 a.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month. The second and fourth Wednesdays are set aside for workshops and other special meetings, such as those called to address issues that require an urgent commission response.
A staff report says the change was recommended for the sake of efficiency and optimizing employee time.
The commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 5 in the commission’s meeting room at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Newport.
