WALDPORT – The Lincoln County School District will offer breakfast and lunches again this summer at Crestview Heights and Waldport High schools, but will require children to eat the meals at the school. Meals are available at no charge to all children ages 18 and under.
During the pandemic the last two summers, the federal government waived some meal restrictions to allow parents, guardians or family members to simply pick up the meals and leave rather than risk exposure to Covid. But with the end of most pandemic restrictions, the district is returning to prior summer meal practices.
The changes include:
- Parents or guardians will no longer be able to pick up meals on behalf of their children;
- Students/participants must be present to receive a meal and remain at the school eating, although a fruit or vegetable only may be taken off site;
- Multiple meals will not be served at one meal service.
Meals at Crestview and WHS will be offered beginning Wednesday, June 15 and run weekdays through Aug. 26. Breakfast is available from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
