WALDPORT — In honor of America’s war dead, the Waldport Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a Memorial Day observance Monday, May 31 at Veterans Park at the intersection of Highway 34 and Broadway Street.
The program begins at 11 a.m. and is slated to run about 30 minutes. The observance will include a guest speaker, and will go on rain or shine.
“All are welcome to help honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” said VFW Post Quartermaster Ron Urban of Yachats.
The Waldport VFW post was established in 1934, and has hosted a Memorial Day event “for many years,” said Urban. For more information, Urban can be reached by phone at 541-547-4299.
