Narrative Summary
On 4/9/22 at approximately 930AM a northbound vehicle struck a bicyclist near milepost 152 of US Highway 101. The bicyclist was thrown from his bicycle. Witnesses reported the subject vehicle continued northbound. Subject vehicle was located by Newport Police and stopped. The driver was contacted and ultimately arrested for DUI Alcohol and Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver in an injury crash. Vehicle was towed by Coast Towing to their lot. Driver provided a breath sample measuring a .32% BAC. Driver was cited and released for DUI Alcohol and Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver in a Crash with Injury. Newport Police and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Log only: A two vehicle non-reportable crash occurred when a vehicle attempted to back their vehicle northbound in the southbound lane striking a stopped southbound vehicle at low speed. The drivers exchanged information and the at fault driver was cleared by Medics before being transported to their hotel in Yachats by law enforcement. The at fault drivers vehicle was driven to the hotel by LE.

Narrative Summary
Log Only: ODOT had reported a suspicious vehicle at the location. Upon contact at the location OSP spoke to the people on-scene, one vehicle had run out of gas. Upon running an involved vehicle a missing person report came up for one of the people. After talking to the people the mother and son were already reconnected and the missing person could be removed. A request was sent to remove the missing person report. It was removed from the system.
