Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A Jeep was attempting to cross highway 18 from the north side to the south side from a parking lot north of the Otis Gas Station, near mile post 1 on SR-18. While the Jeep began crossing, a Toyota sedan was driving WB and a crash occurred. Both vehicles were occupied by two people. No injuries were reported. Car Care Towing recovered both vehicles. North Lincoln Fire and Rescue assisted on-scene.

eCrash – On 10/7/21 at approximately 6:45PM a road rage incident caused two northbound motorcycle riders to crash near milepost 163 of US Highway 101. Rider and female passenger were taken to Newport Hospital and another rider was airlifted to Corvallis Hospital with unknown injuries. Associates of the riders recovered the motorcycles. ODOT, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies, Central Coast Fire and Yachats Fire assisted at the scene.

Narrative Summary
On 10/7/21 at approximately 10:30PM I stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation. Driver exhibited signs of impairment. Driver status was DWS Felony. Driver consented to perform field sobriety tests. Driver displayed numerous signs of impairment and was taken into custody. Search of his vehicle yielded small amount of substance consistent with methamphetamine and marijuana. Subject provided a breath sample measuring a .00% BAC. Subject also provided a urine sample. Driver was cited and released for DWS Felony and DUI Controlled Substance. Vehicle was secured and owner responded to scene. Newport PD assisted at the scene.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A white Chevrolet Astro van was turning left off NW Huckleberry Lane onto US-101 NB near milepost 149.4. When the Chevrolet proceeded to take the left turn it did so in front of a grey Ford Ranger which was traveling southbound causing a crash. The driver of each vehicle had minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed by Rowley’s Towing. The driver of the Chevrolet was issued a citation for not yielding into the road from a stop sign.

Narrative Summary
On 10/9/21 at approximately 3:42 am I was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover crash which occurred on US 20 just west on the intersection of Elk City Rd. Unit #1, a tan GMC Jimmy (579DGT), was eastbound on US 20 and negotiating back to back curves in wet road conditions when the driver reported he swerved to miss a deer crossing the highway and drove off the eastbound shoulder. The vehicle rolled over and came to an uncontrolled rest upside down in Simpson Creek. The driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle and remained on scene. During the crash investigation the driver exhibited signs of impairment and consented to perform SFST’s. He performed poorly on SFST’s and was taken into custody for DUII. The driver consented to a breath test rendering a result of .14% BAC. He was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving. Coast Towing assisted with recovery of the vehicle.

On 10/10/21 at approximately 2:33 am I was dispatched to a single vehicle crash which occurred on US 20 near mile post 11. Unit #1, a blue Toyota Camry (286JGS), was eastbound on US 20 in rainy conditions when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle drove off the eastbound shoulder and struck the highway guardrail. The vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest in the center of the highway blocking east and westbound lanes. The female driver exhibited numerous signs of impairment and admitted to recently drinking alcohol. She consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s and was taken into custody for DUII. She was transported to Lincoln County Jail where she consented to a breath test rendering a result of .17% BAC. The driver was cited and released for DUII, Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief II. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Coast Towing.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A maroon Nissan Xterra was slowing to a stop on US-20 eastbound near mile post 4.5 waiting to turn left into her driveway. The vehicle traveling behind the Xterra slowed and moved to the shoulder to avoid a collision with the vehicle behind it, a grey Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Nissan Sentra was unable to slow in time and crashed into the rear end of the Xterra. The driver of the Xterra was alone and was transported to the hospital in Newport with minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the Sentra were uninjured and picked up by family. Coast Towing towed the Sentra.
