It may be sunny this week but April was a very wet month.
Yachats received 9.11 inches of rain in April – three times the amount measured at the city’s wastewater treatment plant in March.
April’s rainfall is the most since 2012 and three inches more than the monthly average over the last 10 years.
The driest April was in 2016, with 2.78 inches of rain. The wettest was 10.26 inches in 2016.
A wet April brought the totals for 2019 into the more average range of rainfall. For the first four months of 2019, the city has recorded 30.61 inches of rain. Over the past 10 years, the average rainfall for the first four months of the year is 33.03 inches, according to the city’s records.
