Narrative Summary
E-Crash: A Toyota Tundra was stopped WB on US-20 positioned to turn left onto Pioneer Trail waiting for a gap in traffic when a WB Volvo sedan did not stop in time and crashed into the rear end of the Toyota. The driver of the Volvo did not have insurance and was issued a citation. The Volvo was towed by Coastal Towing. No injuries were reported. Toledo Police Department assisted.

Narrative Summary
(***E-CRASH***) On 9/3/21 I responded from Tillamook to a MVA at US-101 MP 154. I was advised by dispatch it was a 6 car fender bender. Multiple people were transported to the hospital. I arrived on scene and the Highway was clear. I spoke with a Lincoln County Deputy who informed me that a car was north bound waiting to turn left. Four cars were behind it stopped waiting for it to turn. A White F250 Pickup loaded with chips that was towing a chipper was heading north bound going approximately 55 mph. The driver informed me he came up over the hill and saw the cars stopped. He attempted to stop but weighed too much to stop in time. He collided with the first vehicle and it created a domino affect. The deputies arranged the tows. Four people were transported to Newport Hospital for minor injuries. Crash report to follow.

On September 3rd, 2021, at approximately 10:34pm, OSP was dispatched to a two vehicle crash near mile post 24 on Highway 20, in Lincoln County. The investigation revealed driver #1 was traveling east and traveled into the westbound lane, colliding with vehicle #2. Vehicle #1 rotated and collided with the westbound guardrail. (ecrash) On 9/5/21 at approximately 1:35 pm I was dispatched to a two vehicle crash which occurred on US 20 at the intersection of SR 229. Unit #1, a gray GMC SUV (290LKQ), was entering US 20 eastbound from SR 229 when it struck Unit #2, a silver Toyota SUV (TEMP), eastbound on US 20. No one was injured in the crash and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Narrative Summary
E-Crash: I received a call of a hit and run between 2 vehicles on SR-18 near Otis heading westbound. I called the complainant, who stated that a 1999 red Chevy Silverado (Unit #1) was speeding and tailgating him, forcing him to speed up. He stated that Unit #1 then passed him on a double yellow, with oncoming traffic and sideswiped his car, a 1994 green Chevy Blazer (Unit #2). He then stated that the driver of the Silverado then sped off at what he estimated to be speeds of 90-100 mph. He was able to get the plate of the Silverado, which I used to run a LEDS/NCIC query on to find a registered owner. The driver of Unit #2 was given the case number for insurance purposes and an investigation into the hit and run and reckless driving is ongoing.

Narrative Summary
On 09/08/2021, the Oregon State Police received a call of a possible deceased person in a vehicle at the Yachats State Park. Troopers from the OSP Fish and Wildlife and Major Crimes Section responded to the scene to investigate. Investigation showed that a 67-year-old male resident of Yachats had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Next of kin notification was made, and the deceased was transported by Bateman’s funeral home. The deceased vehicle was towed from the park by Rowley’s Towing.

I received a call of a theft at milepost 2 on highway 20. I contacted the complainant, who stated that he and the person who had committed the theft lived in the woods near the location listed. He stated that the suspect had stolen a conversion kit off of his bicycle. I responded to the location and spoke with the complainant, who led me to the suspect. The suspect denied the allegations. I responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on SR-18 near milepost 2. The driver and sole occupant was trapped beneath the vehicle. North Lincoln Fire and Rescue extricated the driver and he was flown to Emanuel Hospital in Portland with serious injuries. Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor. The highway was closed for approximately an hour. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Car Care Towing of Lincoln City.
