The Yachats Youth and Families Program has the perfect little Christmas gift for anyone who loves the area – a 2020 calendar featuring the work of six local photographers.
The seventh-annual calendar sale is a fundraiser for the program, which provides pre- and after-school care and programs in the Yachats Commons for local children and their families.
It is the first calendar without the photos of Ken Gagne, the well-known amateur photographer who started the project in 2014. This year the program solicited photos and chose two pictures each from Jamie Marie at Girl in Water Photography, Heather Taylor, Greg Anderson, Donna Bader, Dayna Law, and Gary Manos.
When there was room, extra photographs were added to some months’ pages.
“We’re pleased at how it turned out,” said YYFAP executive director Alice Rose Beck.
The organization printed 500 calendars this year. Printing costs were covered by 21 local advertisers.
Calendars cost $20 each and are for sale at the C&K Market, Just Local, the Laughing Crab art gallery, and at the program office in The Commons. Out-of-towners can order a calendar online through YYFAP website.
The calendar sale is the third-largest public fundraiser for the program, after its annual winter dinner and the rubber duck races each July 4.
