I’m curious if we can mitigate the staggering effects that the pandemic is having on our lives with some mirth and whimsy? It might be a touch of tonic to help us through.
The one thing that we can do to help slow the spread of the disease is social isolation. But with that, what tasks are we going to be doing that we’ve been putting off but now will have time to do?
On Friday, stuck in a bewildering state of social distancing, I got out my WIC (aka, a “What’s It Called”) a foot-long thin, plastic probe with jagged edges that I’d picked up at The Mercantile and that’s used to “Safely clean out troubled drains without the use of harsh chemicals.”
The bathroom sink, it seemed, just wasn’t draining properly. It was a condition that didn’t bother me much but it was affecting my quarantined marriage. Rather than troubling others with what the magic probe was able to extract from the sink, I’ll close by stating that after 20 minutes of exploration we’re now back to a happy household thanks, in part, to the coronavirus.
