WALDPORT – Community members, prevention organizations and treatment professionals are organizing a “Hands Across the Bridge” event Saturday, Sept. 21 in Waldport.
The event is part of a month-long awareness campaign for people and families impacted by addition or mental health disorders.
There are three main events Saturday:
- From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will dispose of any unwanted, unused or expired medications at its substation behind City Hall, 125 Alsea Highway.
- At 11:30 a.m. people will join hands on the Alsea Bay Bridge; meet at the interpretive center on the southwest side of the bridge.
- From 12:30 to 3 p.m. there will be a barbecue and resource sharing at Seashore Family Literacy Center, 265 S.W. Bay St.
