People grieving the death of a loved one are invited to a series of grief support meetings in Waldport from March 7 to May 30.
From 10-11:30 a.m. Thursdays at First Baptist Church, 2620 East Alsea Hwy., members of the church will lead sessions providing encouragement and tools from GriefShare, a national grief recovery support program.
“No matter how long it has been, hope and healing can still be found,” said Linda Keehn, a facilitator for GriefShare events at the church. She said in a release that the program uses video presentations to share advice from experts on grief, as well as the testimony of others who have undergone loss.
“The guided group discussions and weekly exercises in a participant guide enhance the grief process and lead to healing and recovery,” Keehn said.
People can register by visiting the GriefShare website. Pre-registration gives access to online materials during the 13-week course. There is no registration fee. Participant guides may be bought for $15 at the first session. More information is available by emailing Roger Keehn at FBCGSHARE@hotmail.com
