Several moderate earthquakes struck off the Oregon coast west of Bandon early Thursday morning.
Starting around 3:30 a.m., at least five quakes, ranging in magnitude from 4.4 to 5.3, hit in the same area about 180 miles off the coast, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
There were no reports of damage from any of the quakes and no tsunami threat.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in the area, which is home to part of the Cascadia Subduction Zone, a 600-mile fault that runs parallel to the coast from northern California to Vancouver Island.
