WALDPORT — A limited number of tickets are still available for a fundraising “High Tea” to raise funds for a new Waldport library.
Priced at $25 each, the tickets gain admission to a full-service tea including “sweets and savories,” hosted by the Waldport Library Foundation. Tea-time is 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Waldport Community Center. Tickets are available at the Waldport Library, and at Well Read Books.
“This will be a fun way to dress up and benefit the Waldport Library Foundation,” said Shirley Hanes, foundation president. While fancy dress isn’t required, “We’re hoping people will take this opportunity to dress up and have fun,” she added.
In addition to the tea event itself, several raffle items will be offered. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5, and also available at the library and Well Read Books. Purchasers will have a chance to win such goodies as: a Pacific Sourdough gift basket including bread knife, fresh bread, balsamic vinegar and olive oil; a dragon-eye goblet from the Hauser Gallery; a cutting board and utensils, plus skeins of yarn from Tidewater Creations, and more tabletop items. The prizes are on display at the library.
Raffle tickets can also be bought at the door, but those who plan to attend the full-service tea are urged to secure their admission tickets in advance.
