The Lincoln County Health Department is returning to Yachats on Monday with COVID-19 vaccines to give shots to anyone over the age of 12 still desiring them. The agency also announced Friday that it is adding free COVID-19 testing at all of its vaccine clinics.
The clinic will be from 3-7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sea Note restaurant, 333 Highway 101 N. in downtown Yachats.
All three vaccines – Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Moderna – will be available. The Pfizer vaccine is approved for children 12 and older. The Moderna vaccine is for people 18 and older.
People can reserve their dose by signing up on the health department’s web page, but no appointments are necessary and walk-ins are welcome. People with questions can call the county call center at 541-265-0621.
The county health department has been conducting small, walk-in vaccine clinics in communities and at events for the past 3-4 months. Its last clinic in Yachats was in May.
Lincoln County has been hit hard by the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, with a record 786 cases in August and 194 so far in September, including 42 news cases this week. There are eight people in the county’s two hospitals, four of them in intensive care.
