WALTON — A teen-ager from Monroe was killed Sunday after his car collided head-on with a truck on Highway 126 two miles east of the community of Walton, the sixth fatality along that stretch of road since last September.
Killed was Colton K. Rice, 18, of Monroe.
Oregon State Police said witnesses reported Colton’s Honda Civic was westbound at a high rate of speed in a no-pass zone around a blind corner when it collided with an eastbound silver Toyota Tundra driven by a Yacolt, Wash. man.
The four occupants of the truck were all taken by ambulance to a hospital for minor injuries and were later released. The highway was closed for over four hours while Oregon State Police investigated.
