WALDPORT — Bargain-hunters can find furniture, artwork, tabletop goods, décor items and much more at Saturday’s Unexpected Elephant resale event.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., pre-owned items are up for sale at 3710 Crestline Drive, home of non-profit South Lincoln Resources.
The proceeds all help sustain and maintain the organization’s two warehouses on Crestline, where community partner groups Waldport Food Share and Adventist Clothing Share serve low-income families in south Lincoln County.
Under the motto “Neighbor helping neighbor,” South Lincoln Resources also runs a household furniture and appliances giveaway outlet, along with durable medical equipment, free for anyone.
Created in 2014, the Unexpected Elephant gathers the more valuable goods donated throughout the year, prices them competitively, and offers them up to potential new owners. Shoppers can find goods priced from $1 to several hundred dollars, covering kitchenware to coffee tables, crafts to crystal, and ranging in condition from almost new to vintage.
The Unexpected Elephant accepts credit and debit cards, checks and cash. For more information, visit the South Lincoln Resources website.
