YACHATS – Santa is coming to town soon — but he could use a few more elves to help out.
As in years past, Yachats Youth and Family Activities Program is offering a free pancake “Breakfast with Santa” from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Lions Club Hall, 344 Fourth St. A break of pancakes, sausage and eggs will be served and gifts will be distributed for kids ages infant through teens.
The whole event is free and open to the public, but donations donations are welcomed.
“We could use some more Santa’s helpers,” said Patricia Hettinger, YYFAP executive director. “We could also use more new, unused gifts, especially for kids ages nine and older.”
That age bracket’s wish list includes blankets and pillows, large stuffed animals, writing and scrapbooking materials, books, art and science kits. “Any gifts we don’t distribute we give to the foster care system in Lincoln County,” Hettinger said.
A complete list of gift ideas for all age groups is available on the YYFAP website. To donate, Hettinger urges that people email her at yyfapkids@gmail.com or call her at 541-547-4599. Donations can be brought to the YYFAP offices in the Yachats Commons.
