NEWPORT — Samaritan Evergreen Hospice is hosting a free six-week group this spring for adults who could benefit from education and support while navigating through the death of a loved one. The loss does not have to be recent.
The class will meet from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesdays, April 19 through May 24 at Samaritan’s Center for Health Education in Newport. Each session is led by a trained medical social worker and is a safe place to share your experiences. Topics will include:
- The basics of grief and mourning;
- Navigating your unique grief experiences;
- Self-care and mindfulness;
- Preparing for anniversaries and significant dates; and
- Community resources in your area.
The Center for Health Education is located at 740 S.W. Ninth St., directly west of Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. For more information and to register call Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in Newport at 541-574-1811.
