Samaritan Health Services is once again offering drive-through flu vaccination clinics for its patients in Newport and Lincoln City on Saturday Oct. 7.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older receive a flu vaccination. It is especially important for people who are at higher risk of health complications, hospitalization or death from the flu.
In announcing the clinics, Samaritan said anyone who has had a visit with a Samaritan health care provider – whether in a clinic, hospital, laboratory or imaging test – and has a Samaritan Health Services medical record is eligible to get the flu vaccine. Samaritan will bill the patient’s insurance.
Regular flu vaccine will be available for ages 6 months and older, and high-dose flu vaccine will be available for people 65 and older. No appointment is needed.
The local clinics are:
- Lincoln City: Samaritan Lincoln City Medical Center, 3011 N.E. 28th St.; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and
- Newport: Samaritan Center for Health Education, 740 S.W. Ninth St.; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Additional flu vaccination opportunities in the community may be found by calling 211 or visiting vaccinefinder.org.
