Samaritan Health Services has completed the sale of its durable medical equipment business Samaritan Medical Supplies to Norco Medical of Boise, a 75-year-old provider of high-quality home medical supplies.
“We chose Norco for several reasons, but primarily because they are a well-established family- and employee-owned company based in the Northwest that is highly focused on the customers and its employees who serve them,” said Marty Cahill, chief executive officer of Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital and Samaritan Medical Supplies.
Norco plans to maintain the current four Samaritan Medical Supplies locations in Newport, Corvallis and Lebanon as they integrate the service into their operations. During the sale Samaritan employees had the option of transitioning to Norco or seeking other jobs within Samaritan.
Norco has over 70 locations in seven Western states. Norco Medical’s staff includes licensed respiratory therapists, home transition specialists, customer service and billing teams, and offers a 24-hour on-call emergency service.
