A 27-year-old Monroe man has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence following a fatal crash Friday afternoon on Oregon Highway 20 three miles west of Eddyville.
Oregon State Police said a pickup truck driven by Daniel Ruiz was headed east on Highway 20 when it crossed into the westbound lanes 20 miles east of Newport, striking two vehicles before colliding with a car driven by Lexi Brockmann, 20, of Lebanon. Brockmann died at the scene from injuries, state police said.
There were no serious injuries from the first two collisions.
Police arrested Ruiz for outstanding warrants in Linn and Benton counties. He was also charged with second-degree manslaughter and DUII and taken to the Lincoln County Jail.
