The Yachats Planning Commission is turning over three of its seven members starting this month and there is still one unfilled vacancy.
Christine Orchard, a former member, and Jacqueline Danos were appointed by the City Council in early December, effective Jan. 1, to replace Ron Urban and Shelly Schrock, who did not seek reappointment to their four-year terms.
After interviews Dec. 18, planning commissioners recommended Doug Conner for appointment by the council in January. He replaces James Kerti, who was elected to the City Council and took that position Wednesday. The Dec. 31 resignation of Virginia Hafner leaves one more vacancy that the commission was unable to fill Dec. 18. There has been one application since then that the commission will consider when it next meets Jan. 15.
Holdover members are chairwoman Helen Anderson, Mary Ellen O’Shaughnessey and Lance Bloch. Both O’Shaughnessey and Bloch were appointed to vacant positions in 2018.
