Patty Gewalt
March 27, 1934 – Dec. 4, 2024
Patricia Mae Cobb was born on March 27, 1934, to Thomas and Beatrice Cobb and raised in the small mill town of Westfir, Ore. where the beautiful North Fork of the Willamette River flows and a historic covered bridge connects it to the mill.
Patty went to grade school in Westfir and later graduated from Oakridge High School.
She married Paul E. Parker and spent over 25 years in Eugene raising three children, Scott, Tracy and Andria Parker.
She was an active member of Allison Park Christian Church and the local PTA, while working at Malabon Elementary School in the Bethel School District and later at Northwest Christian College in Eugene.
She was widowed in 1975. She married Burt Gewalt of Yachats in 1983 and became active in the Yachats Ladies Club and the Waldport Community Presbyterian Church. Part of each year, Burt and Patty spent at his family home in Breckenridge, Minn. Burt died in 2009.
Patty is survived by her three children, Scott Parker of Eugene, Tracy Parker of Veneta and Andria Parker of Grass Valley, Calif., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed Oregon coast living in Yachats, another quaint and beautiful town, until her passing on Dec. 4, 2024, at the age of 90. Happiness for her multiplied with giving, which she did in so many ways, sharing her joy, compassion and love wherever she went.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. Donations in her memory can be made to the Yachats Ladies Club or South Lincoln Resources.
