Crash – Hit and Run

Narrative Summary
On 6/1/2020 at approximately 10:16 AM OSP responded to a hit and run crash that occurred on US-20 near mile post 9.5. When OSP arrived, the vehicle was parked on the eastbound shoulder approximately one foot from the fog line. According to the driver of the white Ford Explorer Sport Trac, she was parked on the east side of the road. The driver said she had a check fuel cap message displaying on her dash, therefore she stopped her vehicle to assess the situation. According to the driver, she had her driver side door partially ajar. Then a small red sedan clipped the door. The driver was unable to give further description on the offending vehicle. Shortly after the hit and run crash, the driver was involved in another accident in the same location (SP20147028). The vehicle was towed from the scene by AA Rowley’s Towing. Lincoln County Sherriff’s office, Toledo Police and Fire department assisted with the crash.

Narrative Summary
**E-Crash Only** The Oregon State Police were responding to a hit and run crash near milepost 9.5 on Highway 20, Lincoln County, Oregon. While responding, reports began to indicate the operator of the victim vehicle in the hit and run had been struck by a vehicle while walking near the side of the road. Upon arrival, it was discovered that both events had occurred. Originally, the victim pulled over to check a vehicle dash light. While pulled over, the victim’s open door was struck by an unknown passing vehicle (Case# SP20147025). While on the side of the road, the victim’s mother arrived and pulled in behind her. The victim walked back to her mother’s car to speak with her. When she walked back to her vehicle, she was stuck by a passing car. The driver of the vehicle that struck her stop immediately. It was determined that the vehicle did not leave its designated travel lane at any time. No citations were issued at the close of the event.

Theft

Narrative Summary
On 6/2/2020 at approximately 3:37 PM OSP received a report of theft from a motor vehicle that was parked on the west shoulder of US-101 near milepost 135 north of Moolack Shores Inn. OSP contacted the victims of the theft at the location. According the individuals, two females, the theft occurred between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM. Their vehicle a 2017 blue Subaru Forester, had its right rear window broken. According to the individuals they both had their purses stolen from the car. One of the purses was tan in color and contained $80.00, five credit cards, a SSN card, a driver’s license, and a checkbook. The other purse was silver in color and contained some prescription medication, miscellaneous items, and a paper with passwords written on it. Both women stated, they saw an older male parked next to their car in a blue sedan. This was prior to them leaving their vehicle. They were unsure if he was involved. There are no other descriptions regarding this male or his car. There has been no new information at this time.
