On Thursday July 29, 2021 at around 6:30 am The Oregon State Police were notified of a male with little clothing being worn walked down the center of US-101 near milepost 133. The male was reported to have been lying down in the left northbound lane of travel which is posted at 55 mph. The caller was able to get northbound traffic stopped. Pacific West Ambulance and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrived on-scene. The individual was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Newport and OSP completed police officer hold paperwork.

Narrative Summary
The Oregon State Police received information about a possible impaired driver who had lost a wheel near milepost 128 on US-101. During contact police believed the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested for DUII. After the completion of a search warrant the driver provided a breath sample indicating a 0.17% BAC. The driver had been convicted of DUII three times within the past 10 years and was lodged in jail for Felony DUII and DWS Misdemeanor. The involved vehicle was towed by Coast Towing.
