Narrative Summary
***E-CRASH*** On the afternoon of September 23, 2019, the Oregon State Police responded to a minor injury traffic crash located on Highway 101 near mile post 165 in Yachats. The crash investigation found UNIT 1 (Blue Nissan SUV) was attempting to turn left (north) onto Highway 101 from W 2nd St but entered the roadway when it was not safe to do so. UNIT 1 was T-boned by UNIT 2 (Gold Ford Sedan) as it was travelling in the south bound lane. The driver of UNIT 2 was transported to the Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport to be evaluated for complaint of neck pain. The driver of UNIT 1 was cited for Failure To Obey a Traffic Control Device. The driver of UNIT 1 requested Waldport Towing remove her vehicle from the scene.

Narrative Summary
eCrash – On 9/24/19 at approximately 256PM a northbound black Jeep (unit 1) crossed the centerline and collided with southbound green Honda (unit 2) near milepost 167 of US Highway 101. Unit 1 continued across the southbound lane and collided with the guardrail. Unit 2 overturned onto the driver side and came to rest facing west. Driver of unit 2 was transported to the hospital with visible injuries. Unit 1 was towed by Rowley’s Towing, unit 2 was towed by Waldport Towing. Driver of unit 1 told me he was falling asleep. Driver of unit 1 was cited for Careless Driving causing a crash. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

On 9/24/19 at approximately 7PM a complainant reported a theft from vehicle at Ona Beach State Park. Reportedly taken from the vehicle was a wallet, a handbag with pins all over it, a Yamaha classical guitar, a passport and cash. Suspect allegedly left northbound on US Highway 101 in a dark or black colored full size pickup. Subject is described as a white male adult, muscular build wearing a black hat and a tshirt. Investigation continues.

Narrative Summary
On 9/25/19 at approximately 715AM I stopped to assist a motorist who was out of gas. Upon identifying the driver, I learned he had an outstanding warrant in Marion County for Forgery I. Subject was taken into custody and later transported to jail. Animal control arrived to take control of the dog in the vehicle. The dog bit the animal officer. The dog was finally secured and placed into a cage for transport. Waldport Tire towed the vehicle to their yard at the owner’s request. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy assisted at the scene.
