Narrative Summary
On 8/18/22 at approximately 9:12AM a driving complaint was reported near milepost 122 of US Highway 101. Caller reported a subject in a gray Jeep was southbound, speeding and passed on a double yellow line nearly colliding with an on-coming vehicle. I located the subject driver near milepost 138 in Newport, Oregon. Subject displayed numerous signs of impairment and was placed into custody for DUI Cannabis. Subject provided a urine sample and was evaluated by a drug recognition expert. Subject was cited and released. Lincoln City Police assisted in the case.

Upon contacting and identifying the driver I learned his driving privileges were suspended and the vehicle was not insured. Vehicle was impounded and towed by Coast Towing. Driver was issued a citation for driving suspended and uninsured.

ECrash Only – The Oregon State police responded to a single vehicle, minor injury crash, involving a gold Chevy Trail Blazer. The Trail Blazer swerved to the right to avoid a rear end collision, left the roadway into a ditch, and proceeded to collide with a tree down a private driveway. Narrative Summary
The Oregon State Police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. A gray Nissan Altima was broken into while parked at Seal Rock state park. A Playstation 5 and other personal belongings were taken from the vehicle. The suspect was seen at the Newport Pawn Shop and was later located in Lincoln City. The suspect was arrested for theft, criminal mischief, and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. The suspect had to be transported to the hospital with heart complications and was issued criminal citations in lieu of custody.
