NEWPORT — The governing board for the Oregon Coast Community College is seeking applicants to fill a vacant position by the resignation of Cliff Ryer of Seal Rock.
Ryer was first elected to the board in May 2015, re-elected in 2019 and resigned March 16.
The college board is elected or appointed by zone. The vacant zone 6 position includes an area from just south of Seal Rock north to South Beach into southwest Newport to include the Nye Beach area. The college is accepting applications through April 14.
Applicants are asked to submit letters of interest accompanied by resumes of relevant experience. Those applying must be a registered voter residing within Zone 6 and have been a resident within the district for one year immediately preceding the appointment.

The college board will review the applicants and arrange interviews in May.
