NEWPORT – Oregon Coast Community College is seeking applicants from east Lincoln County for a seat on its seven-member board that came open this month with the resignation of longtime board member Nancy Osterlund of Toledo.
Osterlund was re-elected to a four-year term on the board in May but resigned Nov. 15 for family medical reasons.
She represented Zone 4 on the board, which includes Toledo, Eddyville, and Elk City, and much of east county.
To be considered for appointment, residents must be a registered voter, live in Zone 4, and have lived in the college district for one year, the college said in a news release soliciting applications.
If no one applies from the vacant zone after the position is advertised for 20 days, the board may appoint someone from the district at large. Osterlund’s term ends June 30, 2027.
People interested in the position are asked to apply with a letter of interest and noting their qualifications. Letters should be mailed to the OCCC administrative office, 400 S.E. College Way, Newport, Ore., 97366 or emailed to EA@oregoncoast.edu. Letters will be accepted until Dec. 12.
Confirmation of Zone 4 boundaries can be obtained by calling the college administration at 541-867-8532, by contacting the Lincoln County Clerk’s office at 541-265-4131 or looking at the map on the college’s website.
