YACHATS – Yachats City Hall has been closed this week and will remain closed except for appointments or via the drive-up window during March as new city manager Heide Lambert scrambles to untangle issues that have built up over the past year.
Originally announced only to be open from 2-4 p.m. daily, Lambert with the support of the mayor and councilors closed the office entirely to the public after the Presidents Day holiday Monday. In a text Wednesday to YachatsNews, Lambert said:
- The drive through on the north side of city hall will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays;
- Appointments to meet with Lambert or city planner Katherine Guenther are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday by calling 541-547-3565.
- The email for Lambert is citymanager@YachatsMail.org; the email for Guenther is planner@YachatsMail.org; and, the email for administrative clerk Dayna Capron is admin@YachatsMail.org
“Hopefully in April we will have more staff that can assist with the daily inquiries, concerns and necessary city business,” Lambert said. “Until then, I am happy to meet with folks but ask that they schedule a time with me or Katherine so that I don’t have to cut them short or aren’t available to meet with them due to these many obligations.”
The City Council’s next meeting is 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3.
