NEWPORT – Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital on Thursday instituted even tighter restrictions on all visitors to the hospital and outpatient care areas in order to protect patients and staff and limit potential exposure to the novel coronavirus and flu.
There are currently no known cases of the coronavirus in Lincoln County.
If a patient meets one of the limited exceptions below, they may have one healthy visitor age 12 or older during their entire stay. If the patient is:
- Under the age of 18
- In labor
- Arriving by ambulance to the emergency department
- Near the end of life
- Having a same-day procedure
- Incapacitated or needing transportation, emotional or physical support
All visitors will be checked by a staff member at the hospital entrance and be required to sanitize their hands upon entering.
