The second-wettest May in 11 years has brought the total rainfall amount in Yachats this year closer to its yearly average.
There were 5.48 inches of rain measured at the city’s wastewater treatment plant in May, the most for that month since 2010. The average for May is 3.11 inches, according to city records.
The total for the first five months of 2020 is now 34.71 inches; the five-month average over the past 10 years is 36.14.
For the calendar year, there was 14.52 inches in January, 7.29 in February, 4.09 in March, and 3.33 in April.
