Lincoln County has announced $100,000 in assistance for people wanting to expand current child care operations or open a new child care business.
County commissioners dedicated the federal pandemic relief funds with a goal of increasing the overall availability of child care in the county. Eligible child care providers can soon apply for up to $15,000 for eligible expenses.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting Monday, April 10 until all funds are dispersed or until the close of the federal relief funding expenditure window in 2026, whichever comes first. Applications will be reviewed by a committee made up of child care business experts and advocates.
Priority will be given to those providing care for children 5 years old or younger.
Recommendations from the committee will go to the commission for discussion and approval. Questions about the grants can be directed to Shanelle Parks at sparks@co.lincoln.or.us.
