A Lincoln County circuit court jury Thursday found a Waldport woman guilty of identify theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and criminal mistreatment involving a theft from an elderly Yachats couple she was caring for in 2018.
But the jury acquitted Jennifer L. Snyder on a charge of first-degree theft. Sentencing is set for Dec. 30.
The jury also acquitted Snyder’s co-defendant, Carlos Murrieta of Waldport, of four similar charges.
The verdict wraps up a long-running case that started in November 2018 when the victims noticed charges of more than $1,000 on their credit card. Snyder was caring for them.
Snyder and Murrieta were indicted in December 2018, but their trial was delayed three times in 2019 and three more times this year before starting Wednesday in the court of Judge Sheryl Bachart.
