The five candidates for Lincoln County commissioner and two candidates for district attorney are scheduled to appear at a public forum Thursday, April 18 sponsored by the Lincoln County League of Women Voters.
The forum will be at the Newport campus Oregon Coast Community College. Candidates will be available during a “meet and greet” at 6 p.m. with the forum beginning at 6:30 p.m. Candidates scheduled to appear include:
• District attorney candidates Kathryn Benfield, a Newport attorney, and Jenna Wallace, the current chief deputy district attorney;
• County commission candidates Rick Beasley of Depoe Bay, Don Gomez of Newport, Tyrone Halbrook of Waldport, incumbent Claire Hall and Ryan Parker, both of Newport; and
• Introductory appearances from Sen. Dick Anderson, R-Lincoln City, and his November opponent, Jo Beaudreau, a Florence city council member.
There will also be presentations on ballot measures for the Lincoln County Library District and Oregon Coast Community College.
