YACHATS – Siuslaw National Forest officials are seeking someone interested in operating a concession stand at Devils Churn south of Yachats.
The vacant space near the information window will be available for the sale of food and beverages under a special use permit.
“This is an excellent opportunity for a business interested in supporting recreation and serving the public on the Oregon Coast,” said Siuslaw National Forest recreation program manager Trevor Robinson. “We encourage those who are interested to participate in the upcoming site tour, ask questions, and gather information ahead of the prospectus publication.”
The application period will begin in “early 2024,” the agency said and the successful applicant may begin operations as early as the summer. A site tour of the facility is planned in February. To sign up, or for questions, comments or concerns regarding the opportunity, contact Reba Ortiz at reba.ortiz@usda.gov. Reservations for the site tour must be made before Jan. 31.
Devils Churn’ day use area is open year-round.
