OTTER CREST — A 45-year-old Happy Valley man died Wednesday, Jan. 15 when he was swept off the rocks by a sneaker wave along the north end of Otter Crest Loop.
Oregon State Police said Hong B. Su was fishing from the rocks with another man when he was washed out into the ocean by a sneaker wave about 2 p.m.
Police said Su was in the water for about 35 minutes before he was found by a U.S. Coast Guard motor lifeboat and was pronounced dead when he reached the Coast Guard station in Depoe Bay.
