FATAL CRASH ON HWY 101-LANE COUNTY

On Friday, September 3, 2021 at approximately 12:20 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a four-vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near milepost 182, eight miles north of Florence.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Dodge 1500 pickup, operated by Jessica Herselius (39) of Elmira, was northbound when it failed to yield for stopped traffic. A chain reaction crash occurred with the Dodge 1500 pickup rear-ending a Toyota Rav4, operated by Cynthia Bue (61) of Elmira. The Rav4 then struck the rear of a Mercedes Sprinter van, operated by Adam Woods (43) of Albany. The Mercedes Sprinter van struck a Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Marcia Yoder (75) of Hubbard.
Bue was transported via air ambulance to Sacred heart Medical Center at RiverBend where she was pronounced deceased. Herselius was transported to Peace Harbor Medical Center with injuries. Woods and Yoder were not injured.
Hwy 101 was closed for approximately 1.5 hours.
