Ernie will talk about his work with communities in numerous countries, helping us to understand the economic importance of healthy ecosystems, the economic benefits from actions that strengthen ecosystem health, and the economic costs from actions that degrade ecosystems.
Ernie is President of Natural Resource Economics Inc., which was formed in 2012, following 34 years as vice president and senior economist at ECONorthwest. He is Co-Director of the Forest Carbon Coalition (FCC).
He specializes in natural-resource management, economic development, and public-policy decisions. He has taught at the University of Oregon and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda. He currently resides in Dexter, OR.
