It’s OK to fail. Especially if you can recover and learn from it.
That’s the lesson the Economic Development Alliance of Lincoln County hopes to get across to business owners and entrepreneurs during its inaugural “Fail Fest” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11 at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
The alliance says the gathering will feature business owners and entrepreneurs sharing their stories and the lessons learned from experiencing the failures necessary to innovate and create successful businesses.
“Fail Fests celebrate failure as part of the learning process and change the narrative from failure being fatal, to failure being fertilizer for future successes,” the economic development nonprofit said in a news release. “The alliance wants to highlight the courage and perseverance of business owners and encourage future entrepreneurs to always keep trying and learning.”
The event is free and refreshments and snacks will be provided. While people can RSVP for the event at Tinyurl.com/failfest23, walk-ins are also welcome.
The Fail Fest and other alliances events are funded in-part from Business Oregon’s Rural Opportunity Initiative grants.
