WALDPORT – Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating what appeared to be a needle embedded in candy that a trick-or-treater was given Thursday night in Waldport.

“Deputies observed a thin metal object embedded in the candy bar, consistent with the reported possible needle,” the news release said.
The sheriff’s office said the girl had had been trick-or-treating in the south part of Crestline Drive. She was not injured.
Deputies said they are investigating the incident and encouraged Waldport residents to report any further suspicious behavior to the sheriff’s non-emergency line at 541-265-0777.
