Coastal Voices, former the Central Coast Chorale, is bringing three holiday concerts to Lincoln County in early December.
Each performance will include madrigals, traditional carols, poetry set to music, familiar popular Christmas pieces, and medieval and modern works. Dates, locations and ticket prices are:
- 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, Chapel-by-The-Sea, Lincoln City. Tickets $20.
- 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, Yachats Community Presbyterian Church. Tickets $20.
- 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, Performing Arts Center, Newport. Tickets $25.
Admission is free for those age 17 and under.
The chorale group has been performing during the holiday season since 1998, under the guidance of founder and director emerita Mary Lee Scoville. The current artistic director of Coastal Voices, Rhodd Caldwell, is honoring that legacy with a program titled “Holiday Highlights — Our Favorites from 25 Years.”
Each concert begins with “This Little Light of Mine” and ends with a medley from the 1954 movie musical “White Christmas.” Caldwell said there will be a short sing-along with the audience following the intermission. Lyrics to familiar holiday favorites will be printed in the program.
At each concert, three gift baskets will be raffled off. Tickets are available at the door, or through the Coastal Voices website https://www.coastal-voices.org/concerts.
