Coastal Voices, the 53-voice community choir on the central Oregon coast, has received grants from three organizations to help continue its operations and outreach,
The choir was recently awarded a $2,500 grant from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund to purchase of equipment and software, received $3,500 from the Sponenburg Memorial Trust for middle school outreach programs, and got $3,000 from the Fred W. Fields Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation for 2024 operating expenses.
“These gifts acknowledge the diversity of our need and the breadth of our outreach” said choir board member and grant writer Lissa Davis.
The Coastal Voices’ mission is to create a sustainable and inclusive organization that celebrates, promotes, and develops the choral arts. The choir performs six concerts each year at venues in Yachats, Newport, and Lincoln City.
The choir will present a three-concert spring series in early May, and is planning a gala fund-raising event in July. Go to coastal-voices.org for more information about the group and the performance dates.
