The Cape Perpetua Speaker’s series has cancelled its talks for the rest of March over concerns with the coronavirus outbreak.
The Cape Perpetua Collaborative, which is a program within the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, made the decision under guidance from the Forest Service, which runs the Cape Perpeta visitors center. The Forest Service is concerned about the coronavirus risk to people attending presentations in the small auditorium at the center.
There have been no confirmed coronavirus cases in Lincoln County; there are 14 confirmed cases statewide.
There is not a definitive time for rescheduling the speakers, Tara Dubois, communications director for the Cape Perpetua Area Collaborative, said in a news release. Upcoming topics this month ranged from land restoration projects in the Fivemile-Bell area, to climate change and gray whales.
