LINCOLN CITY – Adventist Health Tillamook has announced the closure of its medical offices and urgent care clinic in Lincoln City because of what it called “long-standing challenges” with finding and retaining staff.
The Lincoln City clinic will close to the public April 12 and the last day for office staff is May 1.
Adventist Health Tillamook is also closing medical offices in Sheridan and Welches, but keeping open its clinics in Tillamook County, Vernonia and Estacada.
The organization said the closures are due to the years-long efforts and difficulty recruiting qualified providers to rural communities.
“We have faced significant challenges with not only recruiting but retaining providers in these areas, even working with national and renown recruiting firms with a high track record of success have not helped the situation,” Adventist Health Tillamook president Eric Swanson said in a statement.
Swanson said the decision to close came after trying solutions such as temporary medical providers and staff.
Adventist Health Tillamook is affiliated with Adventist Health, the faith-based, nonprofit, integrated health system serving more than 90 communities on the West Coast.
