NEWPORT — Lincoln County is seeking five new members to serve on its Planning Commission.
The nine-member commission plays a key role in the administration of land use planning within the unincorporated areas of the county, conducting public hearings and help make decisions on local land use applications and permits. The commission also reviews and makes recommendations on amendments to the comprehensive plan and land use regulations.
The commission is seeking regular members from the north, central, and south areas of the Lincoln County, including from Waldport south through the Yachats area. Regular members serve four-year terms. The commission typically meets twice a month from 7-9 p.m.
People with questions can contact Onno Husing, the county’s planning director, at 541-265-4192. Applications are available on the county’s website or available in Room 108 of the Lincoln County courthouse in Newport.
Applications are due by Feb. 14. The positions are open until filled.
