A 32-year-old year-old Waldport man arrested last January on sex abuse charges involving a 14-year-old girl has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after being found guilty in a jury trial.
A jury convicted Gunner M. Cravens of four counts of sex abuse in a trial that ended Nov. 8. He was sentenced Nov. 27 by Lincoln County circuit judge Amanda Benjamin, who disposed of three of the four convictions.
In addition to 75 months in prison, Benjamin said Cravens may not be considered for any form of sentence reduction, supervised release or work release program and is to be under post-prison supervision for 45 months after serving his sentence. He must also successfully complete a sex offender treatment program, Benjamin ordered, register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim or her immediate family.
